How to Use -- Contents
Slightly Creaky does extensive research to find the links you would most likely need and provides them for you in an easy-to-find format. You can access the various categories from any of our web pages using the top or side menus. Each category has generalized headings, followed by more specific ones.
Many of us love to travel, to see new places, to be exposed to a variety of life styles and cultures. It is, though, whether due to financial reasons or disabilities, not always possible to go to all the places we wish to see. At the same time, so many of the television shows about such locations are staged (i.e. nature and animals) and unrealistic, and others are seen from the myopic point of view of the producers and writers (and governments). Web Cams, although static, can thus provide us with a glimpse of locations we might not otherwise get to see.
There are tens of thousands of web cams available with hundreds added daily. Due to limited space, we have selected seven specific categories plus a listing to web cam indexes so you can find more on your own. If you have a favorite that you feel should be added, please let us know.

Although not a "web cam," we highly recommend Google Earth. You have to download the software, but it is well worth it. "Google Earth combines the power of Google Search with satellite imagery, maps, terrain and 3D buildings to put the world's geographic information at your fingertips.- Fly to your house. Just type in an address, press Search, and you’ll zoom right in.
- Search for schools, parks, restaurants, and hotels. Get driving directions.

We love nature and animals, so it is understandable that the web cams in the "Animal" section hold great attraction for us. In 2002 we had the opportunity to spend a day in a penguin rookery in Argentina (making friends with the ferial cats who lived among them).
Thus it is with pleasure that we list penguin cams from around the world. Each cam may have limited viewing hours.
We prefer our animals in the wild (although understand that the habitats of many animals have diminished to the point where zoos and nature preserves may be their final options). If you have never been to the San Diego Zoo, in our opinion the finest in the United States, then use their Web cam to get a glimpse at it.
